Why Embassies
Diplomacy on the court
Embassies already collaborate on diplomacy. Companies already collaborate on business. Communities already collaborate on social causes. Sport is the missing bridge — a shared court where all three meet.
Dar es Salaam · Tanzania
November 12 – December 17, 2026
Eight embassies. Six courts. One humanitarian mission.
Hosted by Pickle in Dar.
Why a League of Nations
Instead of playing as individuals, players represent their nation. Every flag tells a story. Every team creates pride. Every match builds friendships. This isn't a tournament asking embassies to sponsor a booth — it's an invitation to build something Tanzania has never seen before: a sporting event where diplomacy, friendship, and social impact meet on the pickleball court.
Why Embassies
Embassies already collaborate on diplomacy. Companies already collaborate on business. Communities already collaborate on social causes. Sport is the missing bridge — a shared court where all three meet.
Why Pickleball
Unlike football, tennis, golf, or a marathon, pickleball naturally creates conversation and laughter mid-point. Unlimited players, six courts, ninety-six conversations happening at once. It's the fastest-growing sport in the world for a reason.
Why Now
A USA Pickleball sanctioned event — the first of its kind on the continent. Imagine five years from now: the largest embassy sporting event in East Africa, with Tanzania recognized as the home of pickleball diplomacy in Africa.
League Format
Venue: to be announced.
2 Gender Doubles (Men & Women) + 2 Mixed Doubles
Dreambreaker decides tied matches.
12 Teams Total
8 Embassy Teams, representing their nations.
As hosting nation, Tanzania fields 2 teams — Team Tanzania Intermediate and Team Tanzania Advanced.
Officially sanctioned by USA Pickleball — the first sanctioned event of its kind in Africa.
Sponsorship
Each team is sponsored by one corporation, carrying the flag of the nation it represents. Your logo, your people, one nation's colors — on court, six nights over five weeks.
The Mission
Pickle in Dar isn't simply a sports organization — it's the engine powering a sustainable humanitarian mission. OwosTanzania has already completed two humanitarian missions at Nyarugusu, the largest refugee camp in Tanzania, home to 135,000 people with no access to even basic dental care. Every embassy team, every sponsor, every match played goes directly toward building a permanent Dental Care Unit inside the camp — implemented in partnership with TRCS, the Tanzania Red Cross Society.
